River Line

Meandering river life we live, short and long rivers The water we step in today moves away forever The I who embraced you last evening will no more come back The lips I drank your tea with last night have developed crack Like river we are born in a bang and end in whimper ___________________________________________________ Contest River Line Sponsored by Rick Parise Checked with how many syllables: 14 per line 18-11-2016

I agree w/Duke and Daniel. This is a very wise metaphor, this river of life. This is a very deep, meditative poem. Makes a person reflect w/a greater appreciation of the beauty of life. Very thoughtful write, Probir. Peace, joy and love to you.

A tribute to TS Eliot. It's true that time waits for none of us. How quickly we become old. It's a shame that our schooling wastes so much of our time with foolishness when it could help us reach our dreams. Many have had that experience. A sad shame. At least we eventually graduated, but half our life was lost. While we couldn't go back, we could look ahead and try to do wonderful things.

Very philosophical my friend, Probir. Your poem echoes the words of the Greek philosopher Heraclitus of the sixth century BC. A seven!

A beautiful poem Gupta. The water, like life, is always moving, never the same.
