River Flood
the river has flooded again
I can smell the fish from my pasture
I run down there, careful to not slide into it
such secrets she holds
I wonder at their magnitude
feeling small and alone
There is a coldness to the water today
I imagine the catfish are in their glory
Loving the extra volume
An ominous feeling to the river
I sense a body somewhere
Turkey buzzards are circling
