Rising To the Occasion
When challenges present themselves,
Which happens, after all,
We’re confronted with two choices –
We can rise or we can fall.
If our fear or nerves may cause us
To feel paralyzed or numb
And avoid the confrontation,
Then of course we will succumb.
Yet by tackling the problem,
There’s a chance we might succeed
And the knowledge that we’ve done so
May be just the boost we need.
So it’s always worth the effort
For, no matter how it ends,
There’s a prospect of improvement
That each enterprise extends.
