Revised Contest Rules

REVISED CONTEST RULES What to Submit? One original poem on the theme of anything you like. I could specify a theme, but if you wish to completely ignore my specification, and are a personal friend, that’s ok. The only form acceptable for this contest is rhyme, but for friends, anything will be ok, for example, cheese/chair/shore/cholera/sheet/child/will/bully/yolks/green/big , are rhymes. Name and the date. No name on the poem. I like to seem to be judging blind. However, you may simply phone or email me to tell me which is your entry. Prizes The first three or four places are already allocated to my personal friends, but all may enter, and you will possibly receive a dishonorable mention. Preparing Your Entry Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts. English Language Poems should be in English. However, spelling is an option, as usual. Please feel free to spell “Your/You’re/yore” any way you wish; and of course “choose/chose” are interchangeable, as also “their/there/they’re”. A Note to Poetry Contestants You are welcome to enter this contest, but don’t hold your breath for winning. If you won a prize in one of my previous contests, it’s more than likely, nay certain, that you will win again here. …………………………………………………………..

Oooh, you took a great slam at some of the contest sponsors, Syd. I agree wholeheartedly, but most of those who reward friends do require names on poems. In these sponsors' contests, it is so predictable who will win that I just ignore them. Expecially loved your line on "prizes" and the "note" at the end. Hope the right folks read this one! Love, Carolyn

OMG do you really feel that way about the sponsors, thats sad, I ask for dates written so I know its new and names so I can soup mail over typos or wrong form, its not like a person can't search out who wrote what if they want ( though occasionally I have been unable to find the writer to advise on errors), but its sad if you think the only reason we ask for this info is so we can place our "friends"
