Burning yearning, all consuming, stymying heart’s love from blooming, discerning not dark fears churning all consuming, burning yearning. Fire of desire, spawned by ego propelled by thoughts, we don’t let go, till we tire when our plans backfire, spawned by ego, fire of desire. Objects we sought, once we renounce heart’s load is lightened, ounce by ounce; free at last, we are not fear fraught, once we renounce objects we sought. Pause in each breath, chance for release, in staid silence attained with ease, enabled by love’s healing meth; chance for release, pause in each breath. When thoughts are still, our false self dies; soul’s teleported to new highs, having surrendered to God’s will, our false self dies, when thoughts are still. Life is a dream, form is but dust wave in the ocean, on earth’s crust, recognised when thoughts cease to stream; form is but dust, life is a dream. We are God’s light, hermit know this, vibrant, aglow and full of bliss, throbbing within by day and night, hermit know this, we are God’s light. 18-December-2022 Swap Quatrain This or That, Vol 15 Poetry Contest Sponsor: Edward Ibeh

Simply brilliant, Seeker. Such an interesting form, too. Congratulations on your top win in my contest!

Thank you, Edward :) I came across this form in one of Emile Pinet’s contests. It’s interesting but not so easy to put together, in that whilst swapping the first line in the last, reversing words, the stanza should make sense, with of course rhyme and syllable counts in check.
