Restless

Long are the nights that never end When the mind flickers through thoughts Trying to find reasons that mend When you struggle with sleep, a mind fills with knots To wish the nights be one of comfort To close your eyes and awaken at dawn Remembering dreams that flash and flirt So you may smile through the days and beyond Yet you find yourself restless, to toss and turn And imagine sleep may soon creep upon To find it never appears, though you yearn When you realize sleep has gone contest Sleepless 6/13/20

Very nicely done, Frederick. I think the fifth line should have had "ones of comfort" as there was more than one. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Congrats on your place in the contest. Best wishes, Carolyn

Boy can I relate to this poem Frederic. I have insomnia and sometimes only get an hour of sleep. I try to nap but just can't seem to. This is perfect for the contest. I think it will do great! xxoo
