Rest
The way at times can seem unclear;
the world is large: so many paths.
Yet where I go, there, you are near,
so I exhale, am unconcerned.
The only distance in between:
the barricades that I erect.
I cannot slip your gaze, unseen,
a lesson that is oft hard learned.
So meld our thoughts today, I plead,
and keep me tethered at your side.
Thy finished work is all I need,
a grateful rest in grace unearned.
