Resolutions - Contest
We sit and ponder in a wine soaked haze
What can we promise to do from today.
To lose weight, or gain some, where it applies,
Yet we all know it's a pack of lies.
One thing I can tell you with honest breadth
I won't move house again, don't have the strength.
My new home is like a posh car boot sale
I feel like a tramp living in a cardboard jungle
I will try to be good, a fact I know that is true,
Too much to organise, to get home looking new.
No time to sit with feet up and coffee by side
Eating the biscuits, with the extra weight they supplied.
Will be a slim star, with objectives that's true
Poetry to write, art classes to go to,
My new year will be a good one, resolutions are small
I promise to smile, be happy, pleasant to all.
