Resolutions
The old year quietly slips away with soft sigh as
the new year roars in full of promise and expectations.
Many are the resolutions made, lots soon broken, very
few are triumphantly met and kept, our sights set too high.
Each year the same thing happens as yet again once more
we over reach and try to meet goals as far off as the moon.
Such is the nature of people, yet if we do not reach out
we will never succeed nor enjoy our true potential.
New Year a wise person once told me is the worst time
for resolutions. Far better to set a simple goal or two,
a stepping stone for your real desires, a long term plan.
This way under far less stress one gives one's self a chance.
