Resolutions
Entwined amid the Yuletide briar,
the hurried hoards, like lemmings - dart.
Within the flames of shopping’s pyre,
the smoldered gasps of inner screams.
As flurry quells and guests depart,
the maze resets - for next year’s dreams.
The bloom of every wishful hope,
grows wide and shades the thorns of time.
Expectant thoughts, with faith elope,
and honeymoon with novel zeal.
As vestal paths unfold sublime;
just watch for fate’s banana peel.
