Resistance

Resistance is futile
I heard it once said
Everything that is living
one day will be dead

It may seem depressing
Yet that isn’t true
Resistance will meet you
in everything you do

Music is one example
notes played fast or slow
Vibrational expressions
strings resisting a bow

Resistance in your life
can cause your spirit to rise
If you exert proper effort
one day you’ll be wise

Learn to be water
It does not wish to resist
Yet it can wear down mountains
or float like silvered mist

Resistance builds strength
but will claim it back one day
So enjoy it’s many gifts
as you go along your way

I understand from years of religion this concept. you express it very well (but I am so sick of my own health "resistance" these days, it's hard to get on board with it) Great job Richard.

These lines have been needed. Hugely empowering. Thanks for this, Richard. It's been a long while since I've been here. Also, yes, I've changed my Poet name. Still me though! :)

Many a resistance we have come across during our lives and probably still will whilst we are still alive, some we come to grips with and manage them, others can be more difficult and must be reacted to in kind. Blessings and hugs my friend Rick, Jennifer.

Resistance is as much a part of life as death, and it does make us wise and strong if we manage it, also love the 'learn to be water' stanza the best!

The hurdles we encounter in our lives, we have to find ways around them, often a challenging task. Hope you're well Richard. Tom
