Republicans and Democrats
Garnet red versus deep blue,
Each locked in daily combat,
No quarter given and none due.
A dysfunctional community,
A family in strife,
This land of opportunity
With anger, fear and sadness rife.
A country built on hope and freedom,
A shining light in the firmament of stars,
History’s one consistent beacon,
The one refuge that no-one bars.
Let us heal this constant squabble,
To unite behind our Red White and Blue;
We the country of the kind and noble,
Each for the other and not just the few.
