Republic

these myriad days I've grieved
towering loss of freedom once perceived,
furtive malignant cancer spreads
every citizen intrusive dread...
anon denizens of the dark,
surreptitious with their spark,
do undermine, deceive, and chart
a course diverse from heart's
inspired constructive bent
foundation land twas Heaven sent.

Arlo, we do have the potential to save the republic for the next four years, but it does depend on the election results this time. We will see. We can all hope for sanity to prevail and to have people in office who understand what it means to be normal.
