Replaceable Life

Shivering as the winter cold Blows in as if an open door you hold A child's life was sold To a new country he was told That his old life was replaceable Soon exposed to a mother's sin which was not erasable Hurt and lost this child became unpredictable A new man in his life not his blood always unreliable a wife, a father, a husband to this family was easily replaceable........ Yearning to remember the past became insatiable Years went by and the blurs of memories were now untraceable For what was created was a forgotten man now invisible A ghost walking the earth wishing it was all reversible

How I wish sometimes that my life had a CTRL-Z button somewhere to push and undo what had happened and all because of me. Alas, I can't find. Lovely, poignant poem.

Hello Sofia. You say Free Verse however this format and layout is much more. I love your triplets not to mention your expressive powerful ending rhymes. We can't change the past we can only go forward. But truth be told I wish I could go back to the past at times. Your theme allows the reader to look within and reflect. Well done entirely.

I had a conversation with a friend this morning close to your theme, about wishing certain aspects of life could be reversible. But sadly, there is no going back. This was deep Sofia, kind of sad and melancholy but so well written. I could almost see the thought as it crossed your mind.

Thank you. Sometimes I find myself getting swept into the past, but I do acknowledge there is no way of going back to that time..
