Renuka-The Mother

The most revered mother seated in the valley Among the seven sacred hills of Ramashringa Blessing all her children with love overflowing Who seek refuge in her with devotion flooding. She favours all without any discrimination The high and lowly that seek her protection Ever ready to atone their offenses numerous Wait patiently to bless the children anxious. It is a sight to see the mother in her finery Seated majestically in lotus posture lovely Her lustrous eyes oozing compassion gently Her gentle hands shower blessings profusely. The divine mother forever cares for children With great concern for their overall well-being Sometimes censuring and all the time cajoling Provide them all comforts without their asking. The glory of the divine mother is indescribable Where the holy scriptures truly feel miserable But the mighty Mother of the entire universe Willingly embraces her errant kids in distress. Never have I worshipped her great with ardor Nor spent my time chanting her sacred name Yet, I know her infinite kindness and grace So, ask her to shield and take me in her care. O! Ocean of mercy, supporter of all beings Overwhelmed with danger I call on Thee Think not about my past deeds and idiocy And bless me mother with thy kind mercy.
