Remembering Israel
I have been to the Holy Land
But only for a few days
Saw the path Jesus walked
Saw where the brave Jewish soldiers soldiers
made their last stand against the Roman legions
Saw the wailing wall - the last remnant to King Solomon's mighty temple!
Went to Y'ad Vashem - where the slaughtered millions are remembered
Now back in the good old USA
Where we face plenty of trouble!
Mankind being what it is
there is always something to struggle with
A summery day in the big apple
Shabbes is here - and so is poetry
Which can change your life if you let it
So write on all you poets out there in the darkness
Your poetry may be read in the Holy Land, in
Africa - in Asia - in Europe - in Australia and many other places on our home - the Earth
I recommend you take a trip to the Holy Land
There is a little bit of Israel in all of us
