Relief Fron the Summer Heat
From up above, the summer sun beats down;
I fear the torrid heat is here to stay
as people on the streets all wear a frown.
Then suddenly the summer sky turns grey,
a clap of thunder; rain is on the way!
The pitter of the raindrops answer prayer
as cooler temps relieve this torrid day.
Petrichor settles over summer air;
relief is seen in joyous people everywhere.
