Regrets
Regrets
Hurt turns round corners, to catch you by surprise
It's slippery and devious and it's often built from lies
Hurt grows inside you to punish you with fears
Then breaks loose from the surface falling down as stinging tears
Pain rips into you, it cuts you with its blade
It twists and plunges deeper still 'till it knows that you're afraid
Pain feeds within hurt to chew on every tear (***as in rip***)
It brings suffering to life you can't hide it anywhere
When will I learn... learn to forgive and forget
To throw aside all these worries,
To move on from these regrets
When will the sun shine, to brighten lonely days
Tell me, will it shine tomorrow
So I forget my yesterdays?
Scars build inside you, they choke away your cries
Your screams are silenced in your throat turned into soft muffled sighs
Scars are invisible but you feel every one
They're a legacy of storms and fights never over and done
When will I learn... learn to forgive and forget
To throw aside all these worries,
To move on from these regrets
When will the sun shine, to brighten lonely days
Tell me, will it shine tomorrow
So I forget my yesterdays?
Oh, I need to learn... to forgive
Then I need to learn... to forget
And learn to live
And lose regrets
When will I learn... learn to forgive and forget
To throw aside all these worries,
To move on from these regrets
When will the sun shine, to brighten lonely days
Tell me, will it shine tomorrow
So I forget my yesterdays?
