Reflection
What does your mirrored image portray?
Is it the same person you'd come to betray?
Is it a portrait from whom you'd stay?
Has your color drained and faded to grey?
When you look in the mirror what do you see?
Do you think oh my gosh that couldn't be me?
Do you feel proud of who you've become and smile with glee?
Do you frown and ponder how this came to be?
Do you hide your true identity seeking protection?
Do you fear you'll face rejection?
There's still plenty of time to change your direction
Choose wisely who you want to be, be careful in your selection
Do you like to look natural or wear makeup?
Are you covered in zits or hives from a stressful breakup?
Do you have black and blue marks you try to cover up?
Do you have burns or scars leaving you feeling torn up?
Do you view confusing and mysterious broken puzzle pieces?
Perhaps a tired, worn, lifeless body filled with toxic diseases?
Working hard maybe glistening sweat between your creases?
A kindered free spirit changing with the seasons that comes and goes with the breezes?
Feeling invisible, do you ask why can't they see me?
Do you stand tall and strong steadily planted like a solid oak tree?
Take a second glance before you point fingers at me
Everyone is flawed is what I think you will see
Are you self absorbed with obsession?
Have you become an unhealthy object of lust, somebody's possession?
We are all a picture perfect image of imperfection
Be true to yourself and remember there's still time to change and your image runs so much deeper then just your reflection
