Realization

Love is pain At least that’s what they say Thinking back I disagreed in every way I had your hand to hold, and your smile to cherish How could that be pain? You were the highlight of my life My sunshine after rain Things got shaky But I turned on the denial I should have known it was bad When a frown replaced that beautiful smile All of a sudden I found myself without you I wondered if what they said about love Was in reality, true Around me Everything fell to shambles My once meaningful words Turned to heartless rambles I was lost, broken, confused The way you threw it all away I felt little more than used Love is pain That’s what I told my heart But then I realized The thing I had missed from the start It was you that didn’t understand love You never knew what it was to care For you to tell me you loved me Was in truth nothing but unfair The truth about love is simple It’s actually quite clear When you find someone else who understands true love You have nothing to fear
