Reality of a Lie
What happens when we wake up
to the reality of a lie
Everything you thought you knew
is told it’s going to die
Death is rarely welcomed
most people want to live
this includes our truest beliefs
and all the comforts they give
Nothings worse than putting
all your marbles in one basket
only to learn your treasure chest
has turned into a casket
Now we drag our ego
through the five stages of grief
each worse than the other
till you have a new belief
Then begins the process
of exhuming any pride
some sense of integrity
still buried deep inside
It’s time for folks to wake up
to the reality of the big lie
and understand they must embrace
the fact that it must die
As life goes on someday we’ll get
a whole news cycle dump
and never once have to see or hear
from Donald f***ing Trump
