Read Em and Weep

READ "EM AND WEEP
I don't like to write long poems, otherwise I would be here all day
My pencil would whittle down and all my pages would start to fray
By the time I wrote all about summer, winter would be on its way
And you would be bored of all the things I tried in lines to convey
So, I am endeavoring to keep my poetry short, simple and sweet
Then with all my lines forever justified to keep them ever so neat
No more than eight lines as it helps the reader from falling asleep
Then "Lo and behold" digest all the lines, and read "em and weep

Hello Indiana Shaw, oh says a long poem must be written. I never heard that. Just let the pen flow the pen knows when to stop. it is okay to create short poems. Hugs. Darlene
