Reach Out My Hand
How, my dear friend, will we ever manage
To leap across this yawning wide divide
But losing your friendship provides no advantage
Only knows that sorrow and anger ever do collide
Our ways of being differ yet we fondly blend
How I do want my heart to learn quick forgiveness
To let unfurl the threads that bind and mend
Not hold to ways of blocked resistiveness
Reach out my hand and move these days beyond
The week is long without your gleeful laugh
I hope my invitation helps you to respond
That we did not hit our downward graph
So sit with me to take a meal in the quiet of the night
Over wine we will remember to cherish our delight
