Raven's Redemption
As the night blackens around her, chilling her to the bone
She all but dies within herself, knowing what she's lost
Misery tempting her to fly upon that path unknown
With gilded wings to scattered light, she knows what this will cost
A weary duty Raven claims as something she's been shown
Her soul's in utter disarray, impossible pain in her heart
This loss of will she thinks is naught but inevitable fate
The earthly plane is but a stage and she has played her part
Revealing truth behind the scenes, what's begging her to wait?
The mist is twirling 'round her mind, the air is growing tart
Now with awareness feels the weight of metal in her palm
Crossed against her slender fingers damp with perspiration
Raven looks over the gravestones feeling somewhat calm
Needing answers, she's so lost, now wracked with hesitation
Quietly she finds herself reciting the twenty-third Psalm
Surely she now walks the valley, death there at the door
But strength is flowing into her from somewhere up above
Perhaps she'll feel His strength, not her angst anymore
Flooded with hope and inspiration, filling up with love
Warmed by angels now she dances, joyful to her core!
