Rallied For a Cause
It surprised me, randomly she thanked me
It had happened so many years ago
It was there in the news, reminding her
Of the ordeal women still must go through
She remembered me, our small victory
She called me ‘fearless’ and I almost laughed
I had only done what had to be done
And absolutely thought no more of it
To me, 'twas victims rallied for a cause
Through the years men felt free to compliment
Some had no clue where the line was drawn
Their smiles lingered, trying to be so coy
No shame in being inappropriate
Creepy old men in positions of clout
Charm if at all lost many years ago
Enough was enough, it had gone too far
It was time to put an end to it all
So I took out my pen and let it rip
It was over and war I did declare
Disgusting fool, he did not have a chance
