Raining Dragons

It was raining like a banshee, or so Grandpa Troll did say.
But Dragon wanted it gone, until after school started one day.
Yes, we needed the rain, for it was dry as dry can surely be.
But Dragon wanted to set it right, for his summer ending spree.

So he flew west into the storm, to find it’s unerring beginning…
He knew it came from a tear in the… time and space continuum.
Yes, he’d heard those great big words, from a SciFi picture show.
He was sure as the stars above, that he knew, what… he did know.

So he flew into the clouds, into a great big, massive, Thunder Boomer.
There he got the shock of his life, as lightening hit him, a time or two-er.
Then the wind started a spinning, as he got caught up in that, there twister.
It tossed him, behind over appetite, until he hit a twirling house, kerr-splat!

Dorothy was inside with her dog Toto, too, so Dragon went to save the day.
But his super hero cape flew in his face, blinding him, so he lost his way.
He smack dab hit, the wicked witch, as both were, a flying, all over the place.
He was thrown across our ‘Oh My God River’, to ‘Nodding-Off- Ham’ town.

The wicked witch on, the other hand, was thrown into Oz, you know her fate!
Before she fell to her doom, the witch spelled Dragon, with a Zap, so great!
Just as a lightening bolt also hit him throwing her magic askew, it’s true!
So as Dorothy went on to make history, landing her house, on said witch…

Dragon fell down, into the town, multiplying time, after time, after time, again.
Yep, it rained Dragons that day, tho some swore banshees did come their way.
As Dragons’ screams of fright had been multiplied, all thru that endless night.
But nobody knew for sure, as all ran into their homes, to slam their doors tight.

Narrowly, no one was hurt, as the replicas of Dragons, before hitting the earth!
Burst, as the spell broke, when the wicked witch met her fate, of such dearth.
We sighed with relief that day, as one Dragon is enough to handle, all did say!
We all agreed that the world is not ready, for two Dragons, or more… this day.

Well, at least, not any of… you know… us… we said with grins galore!
The moral, my friend: Stay away from any spinning winds… for deep inside…
It’s torrents- there might be another Wicked Witch and Dragon lurking within.
Tho I dare say: Dorothy and Toto have gone off on their adventure, to begin.

I have been entertained by your fast flowing narrative (albeit long), Carol! What a pity I missed out on 'raining dragons'! ~ Just decided to stop and check you out....your absence has not gone unnoticed. Hope you're keeping well. ~ Regards // paul
