I'm older than your dad and your grandpa too!
I've been around ever since day two.
God said, "Noah, go forth, cypress wood to chop",
Because of me - Raindrop.
I'm a tasteless, odorless, colorless, stud.
You mix me with water, and you get mud.
Your mom will say, "don't track in that slop".
Blame it on me - Raindrop.
Talking about blame, I catch it all.
People compare me to teardrops when they fall.
They wonder when I will ever stop.
Sad, isn't it? ...Raindrop.
They lump me together with earthquakes, bud,
On insurance policies which cover flood.
I guess you'll just have to get out your mop.
"Stop complainin'", says I, Raindrop.
But, I'm gonna tell it, and tell it straight.
I ain't nobody that you should hate.
Without me, you'd have no food, no crop.
How 'bout some love for Raindrop?
Yep, people all over the whole wide earth,
Throughout history, have known my worth.
They dance for rain, doing the rain dance bop.
How 'bout a dance?...Raindrop.
Why, I strum on folks' windows and sing them to sleep.
In friends, I can stir love (and trouble) deep,
Until you hear a passionate plea, "don't stop!"
Just doin' my job,..Raindrop.
A puddle is a great place to run and play!
So, go on, do it - why don't you do it today?
"Don't go out in the rain", says Ma or Pop?
They oughta know better...Raindrop!
