a rainbow coffin … I want to go off in style! time to say goodbye On Thursday we went to our friend Suzy's funeral - she had a wicker rainbow coffin which made everyone smile... I find rainbows so uplifting and so this is the way I too will depart. 12-03-17

Dear Jan: Yes, death is the gateway to the afterlife. So, it's a fitting celebration of a life well-lived. And a prelude to life in another journey path. Cheers! To your friend who chose the rainbow spectrum to hold her earthly remains. Was the body cremated, or was there a burial? How lovely her sense of self-honour. Leon

The service was at the crematorium and the coffin was there when we entered the room and it made people smile. it was so thoughtful they didn't have the family walking behind it as there were 3 young children who may have got very upset:-) hugs Jan xx

What an interesting senryu!! I think that might try cryogenics before I die. Imagine being revived in 200 years!! Peace and love Matthew Anish

Wow, but first my condolences for the loss of your friend. She was obviously a very clever lady knowing that she would induce smiles on her funeral day. Without a doubt, not one you or her family will forget! Your haiku an honest tribute!

The coffin was already there at the crematorium when we arrived so there was no procession of relatives following it, it was such a well thought out ceremony full of laughter and happy memories:-) hugs Jan xx

I've never heard of such a coffin. It would certainly be a fitting end to a person who'd led a colorful and fun-filled life. Yes, it made me smile, too, Jan.
