I was a small girl
amid the violence
paralyzed by the bruised skies

Great entry for the contest. "paralyzed by the bruised skies" and “I was mesmerized by the force.” Very powerful lines Linda. Linda a story in a pyramid, to a child, what we see as a violent storm, through a child's eyes they don't see destruction and danger. A child sees torrents of rain and wind as an excitingly beautiful scene. your poem is perfect ! Infact it's a favourite for me. best wishes.;)
