Rabbit Roulette

I used to be such a happy-go-lucky guy But then I somehow fell in with the wrong crowd. I forgot more and more of my past as time went by. In the gang, friends from the past weren’t allowed. We traveled around as a group from place to place Terrorizing anyone that we came across. Sometimes we’d get right up and in their face Scaring them until they were at a total loss. We had an initiation for new members. For whatever reason, we called it Rabbit Roulette. One of us had to go first if I remember. It was a dangerous game that I tried hard to forget. The idea was to run under a moving car, Getting as close as possible without getting hit. I wanted to show the new guys I was the best by far, So I found the perfect spot on a curve to sit. I got up on my hind legs and got ready to run. I heard a car coming and was ready to show them all. I ran between the tires like a bullet from a gun And I came out on the other side standing tall. As I stood there gloating in the middle of the street. I didn’t see what was coming around the bend. Little did I know my maker I was about to meet. My lucky foot was the only thing that they could mend.
