R I V E R
RIVER
———————————-
My trail comes to face a wide river
With no bridges to be seen under these
evergreens —
Outdoing one another in height.
No rustling leaves underfoot:
The pines let fall their needles
For years and years, so
I walk over a padded bed of silence
Laid thick upon the earth,
softly, light browns beside
The sparkling…gurgling…never-to-end
Swooshing bustle-rush of the river’s
Blue flowing full with divine signs,
gifts, I am meant
To mark this spot, stop where I stand
Of a glance endowed with inspiration
From nature’s lit beauty
I will paint fast in memory.
