Quintessential Frost Goddess
Quintessential frost goddess stood at autumn’s edge
Her eyes boring into the layers of November
Hidden spirit was revealed to her, and she reveled in it
a power deeper than most saturated the forest floor
oak, sycamore, elm and maple leaves twirled in welcome
recognizing the joyful goodness of December’s frost goddess
She gave the leaves a few seconds to dance before glistening them
They fell into a lovely heap at her feet, recognizing her royalty
