QUIET TIME WITH GOD A COLLABORATION WITH Curtis Moorman--Viv Wigley-- James Edward Lee Sr. In the quiet time of the evening at the end of the day; I hold communion with God while I kneel down to pray; On the spindle of midday and midnight the world turns; Bullets sear, bombs fall and hunger burns, not alone; I close my eyes whisper to my love; And to the world prayers to the Father-God; Asking forgiveness longevity of life; Mercy and grace and saving others; Imperfect this world since the fall of man; It shall be made whole, his eternal plan; He listens intently with kind, loving care; As I come humbly before His Throne in prayer; Quiet time with God shall be spent in solitude; On prayers for all His children; How wholesome how true how true All-Father; Calms in the storm full of truths; He knows all my needs before I even speak; And I marvel at how He can be so unique; As to take time to listen to my every word; And leave me with the assurance that I know He has heard My life is His He shapes and control the shadows; I recall how in darkness I wandered about; So as I'm in the light I'm blinded by matters; My life filled with bitterness, anger and doubt; I am so humbly amazed by God kindness His choice; But then I made Jesus the Lord of my life; I stop instilled, inhaled listen for the small voice; When I learned through his death, He bore all my strife; In this busy troubled world so loud; Views of me and angels dancing on clouds; So now in the evening when I am alone; I take all my burdens to His Holy throne; And there as I pray, I'm filled with His grace; I'm thankful that one day, I'll look on His face; Tranquil and vested, in my mind I speak to my creator; From my wrong choices processes I close my eyes, pray to the Savior; He'll stretch forth His arms and welcome me home; To live in His Glory, never more to roam; On the spindle of midday and midnight the world turns; Bullets sear, bombs fall and hunger burns, not alone; Imperfect this world since the fall of man; It shall be made whole, his eternal plan; Spending quiet time with God shall be my way praying; So, you see, I am thankful to know I have trod; The road that leads me to a ~~~~~~~Quiet time with God; “Sometime in this fast paced micro-managed world, we need to slow down STOP unplug, turn off those things consuming, electronics, social media, going we should all go to our personal prayer closets and just be still and talk in the still, in the piece, and just spend a Quiet Time With God”—James Edward Lee Sr. “This poem was written in the hope that all who read it will think it important to start each day with God. A quiet time, upon rising, is a good way to begin the day - - just you and God communing together will make your day go better”----Curtis Moorman 8/22/18 Written words by Curtis Moorman~ Viv Wigley ~ James Edward Lee Sr.©2018
