Questions and Answers
Questions built the Pyramids,
Likewise the Internet and cable;
Questions sent men to the moon and beyond
And produced the multiplication tables.
Questions spanned the Golden Gate
And made the silent movies talk;
Questions yielded the printing press
And are helping wounded warriors walk.
Questions pit our intellect
Against the Bible's specious revelations,
Still, man continues to live in fear
Of a coveted but questionable salvation.
Questions will cure the common cold, in time,
As well as COVID, ALS, and cancer,
Intolerance, though, is an insidious disease
For which, I fear, there'll never be an answer.
In conclusion, let me leave you
With one simple but cogent notion:
Answers make the world go round,
Questions set the wheels in motion.
