Quench My Desire

If my thirst for love, I could quench
my heart would beat in rhythmic sound
and not be saddened, torn in wrench
Happiness would be joy unbound

Hunger to be wanted, sated
if my thirst for love, I could quench.
For eons of time I've waited
Lonely wallflower on a bench

Sorrowful tears, my clothes in drench.
Embers would glow in my heart's fire
if my thirst for love, I could quench.
At last I'd be filled with desire

Where is the one of whom I dream
To his love, I shall ever clench.
I'd search each silvery moonbeam
If my thirst for love, I could quench

Beautiful poem, Lin. It inspired a gorgeous response poem from Daniel. Very cool call-and-response Quaterns by you two. Both were so very romantic. A joyous read. A most pleasurable experience indeed. Stellar elegant expressions this poem is. Love and smiles.

I saw this one below Daniel's poem just now. How wonderful to inspire another poet and to have a collaboration formed from it. Awesome, Lin.

Not only is this a difficult form to write in but you have made this amazingly beautiful Lin! My congratulations for just being able to write one! I don't think people realize how difficult these are to write and to have them flow smoothly and not sound forced in rhyme. Brava my friend! This beauty belongs a top winner on the list! : )
