Quandary

Quandary I bought a zoo - a magic place With extinct animals - maybe lost in space Now in a quandary - what to do I have an ailing Jurassic Zoo! My Stegosaur snores with loud zings My Pterodactyl sprained one wing My Tyrannosaur is burping bubbles My Brontosaur wheezes stubble My Allosaur has the sniffles My Triceratops has heartburn dismal My Philoceratops has the flu My Centrosaur snorts in blue Can't just go to the local drugstore For dinosaur remedies lost in lore In a quandary - what to do My vet won't set foot in my Jurassic Zoo Now My Wooly Mammoth has lost his hair My Sabre-toothed Tiger has toothache scares My Short Faced Bear has halitosis My Irish Elk has spinal stenosis My Giant Sloth hangs upside down My Wooly Rhino fumes and frowns My Mega Otter cannot swim My Bear Dog grows cat teeth in him. Think I have solved my quandary.... Buying lush woodlands with running streams In that paradise - let them all run free Every time I visit with warm scones and fine tea They will come a running with greetings just for me. 10-1-21 Contest "Q" Sponsor: Constance La France Thank you Marikate for your inspiration! 10-8-22 Contest: Marathon Mile 16 Sponsor: Mark Toney

Ah Sam, your whimsy is all a-mimsy with your wild zoo of ailing extinct beasts... I shall have to call up the Flintstones on their Rock Bell Phone to see if they have a dinosaur vet they can recommend for you? Just love your cleverness and little kid playfulness in this, and a huge mesozoic congratulations for your marathon win! Warm October blessings, my friend ~ John

John, R & R bro, thank you so much! I had such fun writing this bit of Jurassic whimsy. And I learned a lot about the different dinosaurs! Fred and Wilma did send a reference - Dr. A. Stone! The dinosaurs are very appreciative! Life gets way too serious! As the zookeeper I just had to cut loose the little kid for a romp through the paleolithic zoo! Thought of you all weekend as we celebrated family birthdays and family visits as we rooted for the Friars! :( Hope they can keep this team together for another run next year! Sending you many blessings dear friend!

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, how I revel in your effervescent imagination bubbling with poetic sparkle and finesse! Your vivacious pen brings such exotic imagery and fanciful rhymes to life.. how wonderful to see the "little kid" in you play upon the poetic page with such youthful exhuberance and wild abandon! The "little kid" in me rejoices in this charming, whimsical piece where your artistic flair shines and your last stanza just makes me so happy! Scones and tea in the woodlands with Jurassic animals and my poetry sis sounds like good fun to me!! Congratulations for your excellent win in Mark's contest. Warmest wishes sent on magical breezes.. ~Susan

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, how blessed am I to have a friend, also a little kid at heart, to share my zoo with in this fantasy! I have to give you credit as your deliciously delightful "Zebra Mystique" inspired me to enter this bit of childhood silliness. Thank you for your beautiful message as we go riding off on zebras and dinosaurs into that magical place of fantasy to stop at the end of the day for tea and scones! Your feedback put a BIG smile on my face - the "zoo" loved it! Sending you many blessings of quiet afternoons with tea and scones poetry sis!

"Can't just go to the local drugstore For dinosaur remedies lost in lore" ..... This poem projects another side of your poetic prowess...! Very humorous and light hearted. Your Jurrassic Park is so vibrant with outdated and extinct animals. "My Irish Elk has spinal stenosis". My sister is now fighting with spinal stenosis. Please say a word of prayer for her. Congratulations Sam on your prestigious win in the Marathon.

Hi Valsa! Many, many thank-yous! Sometimes I just have to let the "little kid" out to play, stomp through puddles and frolic with the dinosaurs! I am so glad you enjoyed this romp through the ridiculous. So much fun to have playmate! So grateful for your note of congratulations. Sending you bunches of happy moments and continued prayers for your sister!

Hi Mark! Thank you so much for your delightful message, your congratulations, your placement AND your fav! What an honor. Writing this poem I let my little kid at heart out to play with the dinosaurs. Would love to see it as a children's book. I think kids would have fun adding to the lines about each dinosaur - letting their imaginations take wings while learning about these pre-historic beasties! Take care. Thank you for your contributions to the soup and the time you take to offer and judge these contests. Sending all the blessings of the season to you.

A great poem with a beautiful ending. Wild animals - even really, really old ones - should live free. Congratulations on your win!

Hi Ann! Thank you for your visit and your note of congratulations. Both are appreciated! Animals living wild and free, in their natural habitat, is truly an amazing picture of grace. I'm so glad you enjoyed my zoo. The dinos and I sending you all the best.

Constance, thank you so much for your placement and this opportunity to let the little kid at heart out for a visit into imagination and on a "curi-odessy." (Stole that from a local kid's museum!) Blessings dear friend.

I am so glad you liked my Jurassic Zoo. I would love to put this into a book for kids fleshing out each dinosaur with a little four line rhyming poem. A future project. Thank you always for your delightful visits and your prayers. Sending you love, prayers and, of course, hugs! Even from my zoo!

What a lovely compliment Brian. Thank you! To be compared to Winnie the Pooh is a great and delightful endorsement! My maiden name actually means honey bear! My muse has been lifting weights. She and I had a great time wandering this Jurassic zoo. So glad you came with us! All the best!

Hi Marilene! This was just so much fun to write. I know dinosaurs were scary creators, but I did love giving them a whimsical twist of the tail! Once I got started had a ball creating my Jurassic zoo! Thank you so much for visiting my zoo with me. Blessings!

Thank you so much Eve! I have to give credit to Marikate Kingston and the Pterodactyl poem for getting me started! This was such fun to write. I hope to be able to expand on each critter in short poems for kids! I can just see them being dinosaurs, drawing dinosaurs, singing about dinosaurs and, maybe, writing about dinosaurs! Many, many thanks for your best wishes. Sending blessings from all the creatures, and me, in the Jurassic Zoo.
