The bank accounts of the rich seem akin to Egyptian pryaminds and burial tombs. Huge bank accounts result in monumental inequities in power and authority not seen in the USA for generations.

Dear Duke, I have found a couple of books on "Pyramid Scheme" not sure which one is yours??? The world really is a ghetto ~ I'm purchasing 4 of Robert's books and thought I'd throw yours on the pile along with "Screwtape Letters"

Anaya, I had written about this in Left Wing Limericks which is out of print (although there may be a used copy somewhere... Capitalist pyramid scheme / Sure segregates milk from the creme / Air's rare neat the point / Where great wealth does anoint / The rich who with laughter do scream... Anyway, you are quite the researcher!! Smiles!

SO, yes the people can do a lot of harm, and never seem to come to the realization that they've gone down a dead end...literally and figuratively. Sad really for all of us. I believe these people have a large empty spot in their heart, which they try to plug with wealth. It's remarkable strange things they will do.

I agree with what tom here below has said too , that rich or poor we all die and leave, everything all the gold and materialistic things that we attained as just nothing in this worl. I find it really sad to see politicians and some super rich ones act like they are higher than the rest and others and their needs mean nothing! But we live in such a superficial and materialistic world unfortunately. And we see it everywhere now. Pleasure always reading your thoughts ! And your rhymes are brilliant. Sending you light always

IE, thanks...and yes, we're on the same page. It doesn't make sense to allow wealth accumulation to the extent we have now, since people can use it to affect undue influence over the rest of us. It is a strange goal considering life is so short and it means nothing after our tenure expires. Some of the very wealthy people may be thinking they get to keep it all in the afterlife. Kind of crazy really. We can see they are not particularly happy at all...just strange.

It's reassuring to know these greedy so and so's don't get to take a cent with them when they go. Enjoy your weekend Duke. Tom

Thanks Tom, yes that is solace for sure. I hope you also enjoy this weekend. I think we'll see the oligarch autocrats accumulate wealth in a way never seen in human history. While a pharaoh could only accumulate wealth limited by physical space, there are no physical limits in play with modern banking. The influence and power the very rich have becomes a danger to the fabric of a fair society. Ouch!!

Dear Duke, This imaginative poetry criticizes the vast wealth of the privileged and the accompanying societal injustices. It implies that the accumulation of wealth results in a disparity in power and authority, drawing parallels with ancient Egyptian pyramids and tombs, which represent the permanence and monumental nature of wealth, as well as the idea that the wealthy elite will continue to assert their influence even after death.

SP, Thanks for reading and commenting on this one. You're right on with your analysis. Why does anyone needs more than a few 10s of millions of dollars in a bank account or perhaps just a bit more if they must travel regularly on a private jet or yacht? Elon Musk gave hundreds of millions of dollars (something close to half a billion) to PACS supporting DT to gain power over government function, which should be serving the interest of the people at large rather than an oligarch or authoritarian such as he. Who knows where this will end? Ozymandias lives on in the minds of the super rich. We've been transitioning to this for several decades now. The reliance of the rich on negative externalities appalls me and makes this all much worse than it seems. My poems "007 over-the edge" and "mars man" each have a video that explains this if you're not familiar, though I would expect you are tuned in to much more than people realize. You're really smart, sir!!

Ha, Duke! A lot of good money will do them in the grave, so who gets the finger in the end? No double entendre meant there.

Lin, it borders on the insane for sure. The sad part is that this madness will affect all of us people with normal bank accounts who just want to pay our bills and associate with friends! They'd take every last cent if they could.
