There are moments when I forget
To whisper a prayer of thanks I won’t regret
For all the joy and hope, sweet peace
The unending song of glory that won’t cease
There are times when I just don’t recall
The way that I felt before I heard about Paul
Or the other disciples who led souls to Jesus
The Savior of the world, the One who frees us
There are days when my heart is troubled
Even my doubts and dread are redoubled
It is during those days, though, I can say
He lifts all my worries and reminds me to pray
There are moments when I don’t seek
And the lack of faith makes me so weak
During those sufferings, I grasp His hand
Certain that He will help me understand
There are times when I fail to presume
It was His love that would rise above the gloom
Restoring all my confidence, my devotion
To the One who knows my heart and emotion
There are days when I don’t see the grace
Abiding in my life, the wonder I embrace
It takes a lot of light to lift my heart sometimes
But I always know He will carry me through hard times
There are instances when I know I fail
But He never said through life I would sail
His love abides inside, reassuring, guiding
Assuring me of the salvation He is providing
Never forget the One who saved our souls
His love is like a liquid prayer, always consoles
Reassures and restores, breaks into the core
And returns it to better than it was before
Thank God for the chance to know
His hope, His love, His endless flow
Encouraging, ensuring, enlightening
A fire inside like a bolt of lightning
Without Him, I’d never know gratitude
That reminds me of the love that pursued
Me throughout my sorrowful shadows
Into the light where His love always grows
