Purple Hearts
we are forever being told
to stay away from the drugs in the streets
but why are we never told about the ones
with hazel eyes and heartbeats
i came across someone
whose eyes were brighter than the stars
someone who brought me so much happiness
if only i knew her internal scars
i managed to get a glimpse of her gentleness
but through her eyes i saw only pain
i could see her inner demons fighting
but how on outside she managed to stay sane
her face was numb
but her eyes made a contact
with that person in the crowd
whom she wanted to interact
just like the arrow hits the board
her eyes hit mine
though it was hard to look at them
but it felt perfectly fine
A pearl in the ocean
can never be found
was it ever love?
or are we just destined to bound
