Ptsd With An Extra P

Although there's a lovely prep nurse Cystoscopy feels like a curse The lidocaine gel Does not mitigate hell I briefly hoped they'd call a hearse Author's note: One of life's interesting procedures for some in this civilized country. This does create P-PTSD for some of us. This is a cruel irony of nature. I said to the most kind prep nurse, ''You have an unusual job.'' The response was that she is just there to help. The moral of the story is that staying healthy can be painful sometimes. These procedures are completely routine to the medical profession.

Love this one. You need to do a limerick book, my friend. Sorry I don't have time to look for more. I hate not having lots of time any more.

Time is short. I understand that completely. It is not unnoticed that you are a presence on this site, and that comes with some pretty hefty liabilities in terms of trying to be responsive to all the people who comment and so on. However, you are a great poet, and that can never be denied! In addition, life also intrudes upon us.

Ooops... Not what I expected... nevertheless, well done! ... happy you 'survived'... (coincidentally, the letters I have to enter to validate are "XXR"... double x-rated???... ;-)) )

Terry, that's funny. All is well. Just one of those things we have to go through after something odd happens. Then again, the medical experience can be a little strange. We get to see what it is like to expose ourselves. I don't think I understand the men in trench coats who act so strangely.

Yes, this was not pleasant though interesting. Different sensations that one would not like to repeat ever. Our nature and construction is a result of a lot of evolution, and it does't always work the way we would like it to. At least my thoughts are working well. And your visit is much appreciated. I see you have been very prolific, and I left you some comments that may be more about what I am thinking than what you are writing. I let your poetry take me on a journey. I enjoy it very much. It's kind of a wild ride.

This was so intense I had to write about it. It's all good to experience these things, but I did cry for a while in between the lidocaine and the poking. The anticipation is awful. Your comment and presence are very sweet and appreciated.

Sir, more lemons to lemonade. I try to keep my sense of humor all the time. I can say honestly that you are an aid in this regard. I mean that most kindly not kind of meanly. Keep the good writes coming and be careful when picking up newspapers!

Jan, I can't agree with you more! We should take care of ourselves to be sure. Life is too short to let it be taken for something we can prevent. It's too bad the politicians don't get it and want to beat the war drums. At least we are trying to do the right thing for ourselves.

hubby went through biopsy and plate biopsies but in the end they detected his cancer - I've had lumps and had mammograms - far from pleasant ... but having cancer go undetected would be even worse when it can be treated if caught early - as for end of life issues we have no choice in being born surely we should have some say in when we die...but then again that is an emotive subject:-( Hugs Jan xx

Sounds like you know it!! Jan, we are very lucky to have the medical infrastructure that can help us. There are some end of life issues we need to get right, but I am in awe over what we have available to us.
