Proven Dead
The dead are proven dead
So if waking in the night
You find them standing at your bed
Explain its passe so trite
For them to presume to appear that way
And completely irrational to ask you
To believe they have something to say
Tell them its redundant for them to
Arise like questions from the past
When in this day and age
We know analysis has cast
Olympian Gods into a cage
Of complexes from which appear
Any hero's unnatural rebirth
Projections of our childhood fear
They only SEEM to walk the earth
Haunting through the dreams we share
While dreams of dead men cease
Tell them phantoms are simply unaware
That Chronos swallowed Greece
They cannot stand and cannot speak
Their mouths are filled with grave
And flesh is strong -- spirit weak
Reason alone can save
Let faith in Science calm your fears
And come to your relief
Cover up your eyes and ears
And cling to your belief
