Pride
I am proud of my eyes
For they reflect the color of Your sky
With them, I am able to witness the wonder of You
The beauty of Your children
The magnificence of Your creation
The infinite and the infinitesimal
With them I lose myself in Your word
For You allow me to see beyond my limited perceptions
I see and therefore I believe
I ask You to protect these eyes
For they can be deceitful
They are prone to look upon sinful things
I have seen the depths of immorality
My own and that of others
I have seen the earth change
It has turned from Your Grace
From Your protection
help me to see Your purpose
So that I may see clearly in dark places
"Be a lamp unto my feet"
Help me to see beyond the physical
To see the depth of need in others spirits
Allow mine to be kind loving eyes
Purposeful eyes
Until the day comes for me to see a New World
For these eyes will one day see You
The one and only You
My precious Lord
Upon Your throne
In all Your Glory
For I am told pride comes before a fall
So I wish to fall before You
At Your feet
In humble
Loving adoration
For my pride is in the wonder of your kindness
I see with eyes
Not veiled in blindness
You help me be bold when I'm prone to shyness
So these pride filled tearfully happy eyes
Will be in the presence
Of You the one True King
My Loving Father
Me who deserves lowness
Eyes lifted to see You
My King and Royal Highness!
Inspired by a friend.
