Pride
A dog and a cat were talking one day
that dog called the cat a useless stray
Well that dog had the run of the house
and that cat hunted down every mouse
I was given their love when I was born
right here in their house where I belong
But you little cat are just a stray
left outside your mom walked away
That cat ignored him answered instead
at night the small child takes me to bed
But the man of the house puts you outside
so tell me where you get such pride
Every night that cat laid nice and warm
in the little girls bed until the dawn
Every night her dad put the dog in the yard
sometimes the price of pride can be hard
