Prickles
prickles stretched and yawned,
prickles and his siblings have a task they warned
was it today the day they leave their bed
many months , was where they laid their head
he shuffled along to the entrance of his den,
lifted his long snout in the air...... and then,
giving a squeal of delight he felt the warmth,
it was time to wake up from their long rest unharmed.
slowly and carefully they scampered out as one
their work started now, so much to get done
someone had mowed the grass so was easy find
those worms and slugs mother nature leaves behind
soon will be time to find a wife, let courting begin
oh my! courting hedgehogs make such a din.
if your lucky and we live in your garden....please
make sure no rubbish is about into which we can squeeze.
