Price Of Knowing

I have learned that hate is stronger and lasts longer than love. I have learned that those who 'forgive and forget' are often made to regret. I have learned to heal and to cope you don't need a ray of hope. I have learned that smiles which lie can let you die. I have learned that compliments are fake, like sprinkled sugar on a bitter gourd cake. I have learned that romance has stages it burns you before it rages. I have learned that thinking deep won’t stop the nights you fail to sleep. I have learned that failure’s stepping stones often lead to cliffs, not thrones. I have learned that "practice before you preach" is beyond anyone's reach. I have learned that promises are tools, to calm the wise and fool the fools. I have learned that a thing of beauty is bound to tame the beast as duty. I have learned that money is a trumpet blaring truth, drowning judgment. I have learned that poems on heartbreaks fly off shelf like hot pancakes. I have learned that sorrow sells, like haunted hearts in carousel spells. I have learned to be a Mona Lisa you have to bend like the Tower of Pisa. These are the truths I learnt not from books but bruises. Now I use them as a poet, to decorate my muses.
