Pretending

I have seven rescued felines living in my apartment. All are street cats who were all in life threatening situations, unless someone voluntarily intervened. I rescued all of them back when I was working, and now I have trapped myself upon retiring. I could now be living my life the way I always dreamed, on the endless wilderness trail continually wandering, checking into a motel every now and then, whenever the trail took me to a nearby town, where I would spend the night before restocking, and then hit that endless wilderness trail once again. I do not have a bed, I use bed rolls, in various areas of my apartment that I have chose. Each night when I decide to retire for the evening, a campfire is displayed on a loop on my flat screen, with the sounds of chirping crickets and frogs croaking. As I lay myself down to sleep, I am surrounded by felines almost immediately. I pretend that they are wildlife who have befriended me, and then I slowly, comfortably drift off to sleep. I know it isn't real. I know that it is only a fantasy, but I have no other recourse but to pretend that I am living my dream.
