Preachers Are a Cure For Insomnia

(Written after seeing President Clinton sleeping during a sermon) Preachers Are a Cure for Insomnia By Elton Camp Most of them tend to drone on and on Long after audience interest is gone What they say all have heard before And don’t want to hear it anymore But custom demands that they pretend To enjoy every word right to the end A sleepy hubby a wife can’t abide And rams her elbow into his side But when a fellow is there all alone Into a nap he far too easily is gone If he happens to be a person of fame, He’s caught on camera in his shame Few of us haven’t done the same way So “Tut, tut” we have no right to say

Heehee! I used to sneak a book into mass. I liked this piece. It reminds me of fighting with the church as a teenager. :P
