Practical Religion

Do you have any practical religion?
That’s what I wish to know.
I ask this question to people I know,
And they replied it in different ways.
Someone’s goal is gaining knowledge,
Someone insist on doing good works,
Some other cares for love and devotion,
But all of them have their own way.
All the streams from different sources,
Mingle their water in the vast open sea,
Like all the paths which men prefer,
Crooked or straight, all lead to Thee.
Keeping a standard is good for us,
But never ignore the standard of others,
That’s the base of practical religion,
Through which build a peaceful world.

Towards the end, your writing persuaded me: Ignoring what other religions teach is our loss (in so many ways). shanthi Om/shalom-shalom

What a clever sensible Poem. How will we ever get peace in the world if we don't try to understand each other? Knowledge brings understanding. Understanding brings compassion Compassion brings acceptance etc... I really liked this poem. Thank -you

Jenish, when a person opens their heart to God then they will have peace and tranquility . . I am Roman Catholic but I like to learn about all religions for I think the goal is always the same though the beliefs may be different, each has something beautiful to learn, great poem, well done _Constance
