Power

Power is an intoxicating spice
Oily politicians line the public troughs with it
Wealthy corporations dress it up in lofty mission statements
Erotic mistresses ooze it to extract favors from lovers
Reformers inevitably glom onto it to achieve dubious ends

Like this last line a lot! "Reformers inevitably glom onto it to achieve dubious ends" So true. So absolutely true!

Funny Gershon, I just wrote something rather similar - power, never seems to be used wisely! Hugs, Jennifer.

Great minds think alike, no doubt! … I'll have to look for it soon, but I'll be off of the Soup for over 72 hours in a bit. (See the poem, "I'm Lucky, I'm Free" -- just posted). After that, I'll look for your write. Happy trails to you! :) gw

I'm sure you've heard 'power corrupts' - it can contaminate almost anyone.
