Kangaroo Fire

After the fire, after the rage, After the storm was done, She stood alone in a land of black, Saw what she had become, She felt alone, void of life, Grand trees had burnt on down, She could only smell the smell of death, Burnt love lay on the ground, So she kissed her son amongst the soot, Then turned her head to hope, And with a tear running down her face, Slowly hopped off through the smoke, To find some water, herself a home, For her new life to resume, She hopped off to another day, With a joey in her womb.
